On May 28, 1944, the Allies bombed the Camp of Beverloo, which was occupied by the Germans. We will never know how many German soldiers died. There were 270 fatalities among the population. The OLV Visitation Institute in Leopoldsburg also had to deal with bombs. They later released a booklet about this disaster here. Unfortunately I do not have the original in my possession, but I have been able to design a digital version through scans.
