Monument for the Volunteers for Korea

Since October 1 1977 a monument, that was erected in honour of the 4000 volunteers for Korea who received their training in Camp Beverlo, stands on the grass-field in front of the ‘Plaatscommando’.

An ashlar pillar carries a copper plaque, on which we you can read that the corps was formed in Leopoldsburg on October 2 1950; that 108 were killed, that 354 men were severely injured and that 6 were missing in acton. The plaque also refers to honourable mentions INGIN, CHATKOL and HANKTANT.
